Martin 000-28M Eric Clapton limited edition - number 2

*Made in 2009 by Martin Guitars in collaboration with Eric Clapton, this model was limited to four hundred and sixty-one pieces worldwide, with each guitar hand signed by Eric Clapton himself. This guitar is number two of the run and the first natural guitar of the ECM models, with number one being a sunburst example. The guitar is sold with a statement of origin that states 'it is very rare for any of the first ten guitars not to be snapped up by wealthy collectors, other pro musicians or people 'in the know' within the industry as it is well known that the first ten produced are considered by collectors as the most valuable... my friend was visiting the factory the next month and spoke to his contacts there about my order. I did not know this at the time but it turned out my order was the first to be received. It was I think early 2009 when the guitar arrived and I was stunned to find it was number two... I believe number one was a sunburst top and offered to Eric Clapton who turned it down as he still had the prototype. That now resides in the US with another collector. This is the first of the natural tops ever produced. Rick '
