PRODUCT DETAILS

Conde Hermanos Felipe V no2 Media Luna

Our owner visited the sacred studio of Conde Hermanos in the center of Madrid and chose this exceptional guitar after playing a number of his finest. Hard to buy and find even in Spain but outside of Madrid this is a fabulous opportunity to own a slice of Spanish Flamenco folklore!

This Conde Hermanos crafted and signed by Felipe Conde in 1993, is a great, modern Madrid Flamenco guitar with a rich, full sound. To better understand the guitar and its unique tone, a short history of Conde Hermanos is illuminating.

The Conde Hermanos dynasty was founded by Domingo Estes, in 1915 in Madrid, at the famous address of Gravina 7, where he established his own guitar workshop after he worked for Manuel Ramirez from 1884-to 1915. A few years later, Domingo introduced his nephews, Faustino and Mariano Conde, to the art of making guitars, and when he died in 1937, they took over the family business.

Faustino and Mariano soon established their reputation as master Flamenco guitar makers with the label of Conde Hermanos. In 1979, a second Conde Hermanos guitar workshop was opened on Felipe V in Madrid. This location became the Conde Hermanos workshop for Mariano Senior and his two sons as the unique family craftsmanship was passed down through the generations. After Faustino died in 1988 and Mariano in 1989, Mariano's sons, Felipe and Mariano Junior took over the Conde Hermanos enterprise and stayed in the workshop at Felipe V. Felipe Conde’s signature and workmanship on this model, therefore, guaranteeing the fruits of well over a century of family expertise.
