Lowden Celebrating EXPO 2020 Handmade Guitar
Built to be displayed at the UK Pavilion at EXPO 2020 in Dubai, this guitar was presented during the visit of HRH Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge on the UK National Day.
5,000 year old English Bog Oak (often referred to as ‘Ancient Bog Oak’ in guitar- building circles), is used to form the back and sides of the guitar.
Sitka spruce, native to North America but introduced to the UK in the early 1800’s was chosen for the soundboard. This particular species of wood now thrives in northerly parts of the UK in particular the Scottish Highlands.
