a mesmerizing tribute to the legendary Venetian explorer, Marco Polo. In commemoration of the 700th Anniversary of his death, this two-year project by Paoletti Guitars promises to transport you on an epic journey along the Silk Road through Asia.
THE TALE UNVEILED
In 1271, Marco Polo set sail from Venice, embarking on a three-and-a-half-year odyssey to China, where he was received by the court of Kublai Khan. Paoletti Guitars honours his historic journey with a limited series of only 10 handcrafted guitars.
Craftsmanship Beyond Compare
Constructed from centenarian Italian chestnut woods sourced from reclaimed wine barrels, each guitar is a masterpiece. Authentic Venetian mother of pearl inlays, meticulously crafted from up to 3000 small pieces, recreate the original medieval code. The addition of 24k gold-plated hardware crowns these guitars with a level of luxury and elegance befitting their limited-edition status.
THE ARTISTRY EXTENDS TO THE CASE
Collaborating with master artisans, Paoletti Guitars presents a case that mirrors the guitars' artistry. Luxurious glass meets the rich warmth of walnut, creating a captivating visual juxtaposition. Exquisite glass panels provide a glimpse into the guitar’s splendour, showcasing it as a true work of art.
The Grand Celebration
The journey culminates in a celebratory event hosted in May 2024 in Venice at the Scuola di San Giovanni Evangelista. This historic location, steeped in Venice’s cultural heritage, serves as a fitting backdrop to honour the life and adventures of Marco Polo. Future owners will be personally presented with their guitar during this grand celebration.
