Pure Valve Tone with Modern Control

The AST 3 takes a unique approach to gain structure. Instead of a traditional preamp gain control, Marshall employs a Sensitivity potentiometer that feeds directly into the power amp’s feedback circuit. This allows you to control distortion levels without altering the core tonal character—preserving clarity, punch, and feel.

The Edge control functions similarly to a Presence knob, shaping high frequencies in the output stage rather than the preamp, resulting in a more organic and musical response.

Driven by two KT66 valves and a GZ34 rectifier tube, the Astoria AST 3 delivers a wide, open soundstage with smooth sag and dynamic response.
