Our goal is to provide clarity, advice, and trust throughout the entire process from choosing your luthier through to delivery of your guitar.
01 CHOOSE YOUR LUTHIER
From the world’s finest builders
At AOG, we represent the world’s finest guitar builders from around the world. We’re in a lucky position where luthiers guarantee us to build slots, which means we have availability many years in advance of their personal waiting list. So if you’re looking for a bespoke build, chances are you’ll be able to get your dream slot quicker with AOG. All you need to do is put down a 35% deposit to lock in your slot and the process begins.

02 SPEC YOUR GUITAR
With a dedicated AOG Bespoke expertAt this stage, you’ll work with an AOG Bespoke expert to discuss your personal requirements as we help bring your ideas to life in a formal specification that your luthier of choice will build. We’ll guide you through the process of all ergonomic, aesthetical and tonal considerations as well as any special appointments you may desire. The sky’s the limit and this is the fun part where you’ll work with us closely.
03 YOUR BUILD BEGIN
You’ll be updated every step of the way
Now we have your spec confirmed and it’s in the hands of your luthier, the build begins. This is often the hardest part as you’ll have to wait for your instrument, but you’ll be kept informed at every step of the way via progress updates every month from your dedicated AOG Bespoke expert. You’ll get pictures from the workshop, and insight into the process and how it’s developing, but crucially you’ll get to know your guitar right from the moment it hits the bench. At the end of this process, you’ll have a documented ‘build thread’ of your bespoke experience.

TRADE-IN, CONSIGN
One of the biggest advantages of buying a bespoke guitar through The Art of Guitar rather than direct is that we can accommodate many different financial situations to make your dream come true. With AOG Bespoke, you can trade a guitar in against the cost of your build, consign or sell your guitar via our Exchange service (in some cases we might be interested in buying guitars from you), and finance either all or part of the cost. None of these are possible going direct.
