Take It From The Top

Completing Yamaha’s L series of acoustic-electric guitars, the LSX26C is 100% hand crafted in Hamamatsu, Japan. It is an exquisite acoustic that offers a lifetime of incredible playability and tone. At Yamaha, quality guitars are the product of stable production methods derived through knowledge and experience. This can be seen in their L-Series, enjoyed by artists like James Taylor, Paul Simon, Bert Jansch and Rik Emmett.

The LSX26C Model, is truly one of the best fingerstyle guitars you will experience. Utilising Yamaha's Acoustic Resonance Enhancement (A.R.E.), the LSX26C features a rosewood body with a solid Engelmann spruce top, for stunning tone that is balanced, full, and unique. A 5-ply mahogany/rosewood neck with ebony fingerboard adds to this beautiful instrument's exquisite tone and playability. High-end, detailed appointments such as maple binding and an ebony bridge enhance and support the rich tone of this incredible acoustic.

The smaller body of the LSX26C emphasises the midrange and softens the low-end response, making for an incredibly articulate, clear sound. Intricate playing styles are particularly well served by the LSX’s sweet, subtle tone but lower overall volume can also add a new dimension to chord work for recording, or applications where maximum volume isn’t a prerequisite. Standard L-Series solid Engelmann spruce and solid Indian rosewood brings the best out of the LSX26C tone, with strong, powerful response across the frequency range. The Yamaha LSX26C utility newly developed advances in guitar construction to bring you an amazingly playable and great-sounding instrument.

Special Features

Way Pickup Systems

In addition to the one-way system’s bridge mounted piezo pickup and easy to access controls, a condenser microphone mounted inside the guitar on the end of a flexible gooseneck adds natural acoustic warmth, for greater tonal reality and variation.

Preamp System

The System41 two-way system includes a 3-band equaliser with an adjustable midrange frequency control, microphone tone control, microphone volume control with phase switch and master volume control.

Microphone With Goose Neck

Mounted inside the body, the flexible gooseneck shaft offers optimum positioning of the condenser microphone.

New Bracing Designs

All L-Series guitars benefit from a new non-scalloped bracing design that delivers tone that is thick and well focused. The #36 and #26 model instruments add a square bracing design which utilises side braces to connect the brace closest to the sound hole on the top, to its opposite brace on the back. This arrangement transmits string resonance to the back much more quickly, bringing the entire instrument alive with bass response, which the player will clearly feel.

Multi-Ply Neck Designs

The five-piece necks on the #36 and #26 models are carved from a single laminated block that features two layers of padauk—an extremely hard wood used for marimba tone bars—sandwiched between three layers of mahogany. This design creates a neck that is exceptionally strong and stable—great for those players who prefer low string height. The #16 and #6 model instruments utilise similar 3-ply design of rosewood between two layers of mahogany

Cutaway Body

Venetian cutaways offer access to the upper frets while adding beauty to these fine instruments.

Tuners

The vintage style brass tuners found on all #26 model guitars present these instruments with a classic look.

Bridge

The bridges on all new L-Series guitars offer more overall mass than their predecessors, to deliver greater tone. Their designs feature smooth lines and edges to keep the playing surface unencumbered.
