Martin D18 Golden Era - 1934 Limited Edition

The very first dreadnought guitars were designed and crafted by C. F. Martin & Co. in 1916, but marketed in Boston and New York exclusively under the Oliver Ditson brand. After Ditson went out of business in the early 1930s, Martin introduced the D-1 and D-2 dreadnoughts for standard playing style, which would soon become Martin’s iconic D-18 and D-28 models. Over the past decade, the Martin dreadnought has become one of the most popular acoustic guitar designs in the world. This particular Martin D18 Golden Era 1934 replica is simply fantastic: everything is faithfully based on the original, and its tone and playability are off the charts.

This beautiful instrument boasts a natural, D-14 Fret body size, solid Adirondack spruce top, style 18 black/white fibre rosette, and black boltaron binding, with solid mahogany back and sides. The Mahogany on this guitar is exceptionally beautiful and it gives the guitar a sound that is astonishing in its purity. Style 18 back purfling, black ebony fingerboard with the old style 18 position markers on a V Profile shaped mahogany neck for long-playing comfort, and a 25.4” scale length, with a 1 3/4″ width at the nut complete this vintage look.
