Epiphone by Gibson  Original Thunderbird Bass

The Thunderbird Classic-IV PRO returns with all of Epiphone's signature, first-class quality. Thanks to legendary automotive designer Ray Dietrich, the Thunderbird IV was one of the most radical designs (with a new twist, the solidbody) to come out of the Gibson and Epiphone Kalamazoo factory in the early 1960’s. This reissue has all the character of the original with additional contemporary technology and performance.

The Epiphone Thunderbird 60s Bass is an incredibly accurate reproduction of the classic electric bass first introduced in 1963, that has since powered dozens of hits by artists like The Who, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and Cheap Trick. Featuring new ProBucker Bass Humbuckers and a vintage styled 60s Thunderbird Tune-O-Matic bridge and Claw tailpiece, it is available in Alpine White, Ebony, and Tobacco Sunburst. (Previously called Thunderbird Vintage PRO).

The Thunderbird-IV boasts mahogany body wings and a solid, bolt-on hard maple neck. Other notable features include a SlimTaper profile neck, rosewood fingerboard with a 12" radius, and a 34" scale length.

The Thunderbird-IV also features Epiphone's Thunderbird TB Plus humbucker, which has proven to be one of the Epiphone's most versatile bass pickups, both on stage and in the studio.
